Mom just left. I am sad. I worry about her so much. That’s why I want her to move to Oregon. I want to be able to take care of her. Every time I see her I notice how much her social skills have deteriorated from being so alone. She spends so much time closing herself off from people… *sigh* Ah well, what can I do? She is so stubborn. Hopefully, I’ll be able to succeed in moving her here. Unfortunately, I think it will require a great deal of manipulation, a skill at which I don’t feel I excel (except in a manual way). We shall see.

On the physical end of things… I feel much better this morning but for a bit of lingering gastric distress. *rolls eyes* The things I get myself into. And then I’m all mean and despotic to my guests after the movie and kick them into the streets. Quite the hostess, I am. If Mom hadn’t been in my room, I’d have retired there and let the party continue, but I just couldn’t get comfortable enough to sleep draped over the lawn chairs on the deck and all I wanted was for the day to end and sleep to heal me. Stupid allergy. *makes the frown face* I’ll have to make it up to you all.

My current question… to start my day or go back to bed. Such a dilemma.

Poor, poor miladycarol! I hope you're feeling better soon. Pjack is right, it is perfectly all right for you to let us know that you can't host an event if you're not feeling well.

Now that Mom has left, you are free to come over. I am not intimidated by your germs, but I have to watch out for Mom. She doesn't have the capacity to fight germs off. She lives in an asceptic little world to keep her leukopenia from killing her. Me? I don't even buy antibacterial soap. I say, "Germs! Bring it on! I've fought you before and you've made me stronger! Ha! You may bring me down occasionally, but I always come out on top! Bring it on!"

Don't get me wrong, I don't enjoy having a cold, but if I lived my life as aceptically as my Mom, I would be sick so much more often. Personally, I try to make sure all my organs have to work so they don't become out-dated like the appendix. I'd hate to have my liver explode or something. *grin*

One of the contributing causes to the increase in allergies in children is anti-microbial soap. We need germs to teach our immune systems how to react and when.

Well, it was sudden. I think a regular cold would have been fine to host through, but the wackiness of an allergic reaction took me by surprise. I haven't had to deal with one for years, so I had forgotten all the wonderful things it does to the body. Anyway, we had planned this far in advance, so I hated to be so rude just because of a silly allergy. I think I'm too proud for that, but I caved. *hangs head in shame* The sleep really helped.
