The fun never stops at Chez Avalonne. I've been so busy packing for Australia and mopping up my life so I can keep it nicely contained in a few well placed buckets while I'm gone, I almost completely forgot to pack for Orycon tomorrow morning. Another late night...
I spent almost my whole day in an IRS office. *the crowd gasps, shudders and instinctively clutches their wallets* I think we made some headway on the 6 month old issue at hand. I wish I had done this months ago rather than waste my time on the phone.
RECOMMENDATION: If you ever have an IRS issue, do not, I repeat, do NOT call their toll free number. Please go to the most local IRS office and handle it there. Speak to one person, get their badge and phone numbers, and make sure they give you copies of everything with date stamps on them. If you think you need to record the conversation, they require an appointment and 10 days of prior notice. Tell your story, light candles, and say prayers to the gods and goddesses of taxation.
