1) What was the biggest home renovation project you ever took on?

Hmmm… I really have to think about that. I’m not sure. Among the biggest were the electrical re-wire that I only half correctly accomplished in the garage, the built in wall of bookshelves I made, re-plastering the walls and ceiling of G’s office (because it was a room made from half the garage and whoever built it never actually finished the wallboard correctly), ripping up the carpets and installing the wood flooring… I think these are my four biggest. They sort of make the kitchen plumbing project, the bathroom flooring project, the raised bed building project and the mural painting project pale in comparison. Although, the mural room was certainly my longest running project. That took me 3 months to complete… well, I do still want to add two more big trees, but the last big tree took a month on its own, so…

2) How did it turn out?

I’m pleased with them all… even my botched electrical rewire I consider successful in that it was a difficult project for a first time and I got the easier part right. Besides, it makes a great story.

3) What one handyperson talent have you always wanted to have?

I don’t think I lack the talent for anything handy… I just lack equipment and tools. Anything else, I can take a class to learn or figure it out myself. I know I don’t have great electrical or plumbing skills, but that’s okay. I’m content to pay people to make sure it’s done right the first time from now on.

4) What house repair area scares you the most?

Well, the obvious electrical, plumbing and structural repairs I prefer to have a professional do it or at least on hand. I don’t want to mess with my inexperience putting the house in peril. Outside of those things, the scariest house maintenance is always climbing on the roof and cleaning it and the gutters. *shudder*

5) What's the next biggest household task you've set yourself?

I still have yet to tackle the main bathroom and I still want to landscape the backyard.
