Monday was very productive. Knowing I have to work all the next two days gives me a bit more push to do what must be done about the house. I tidied up about the house, did a bit of work in the garden, gave the kitchen a thorough once and a half over, fixed the screen door, scrubbed the toilets, snaked the two bathroom sink drains (have I ever mentioned how disgusting a task this is and how much I dislike it?), cleaned said sinks afterward, and studied a bit on gemology to freshen up my knowledge base for the new job. All that and I still had time to go to Cost Co with G and make it plenty early for my D&D game. I was pleased. The only thing I haven’t been able to do is prepare meals for the week. I’ll be buying lunch out again tomorrow as I had no time tonight and I work all day Wednesday.
I worked late today and then G and I went to the Lane County Faire. We were disappointed by the lack of free standing space near the main stage. We couldn’t get anywhere near enough to see the band without paying more. I’ve watched the free space dwindle more and more each year I’ve attended. Sad. We did have a lovely time wandering about, people watching and being silly. Oh, and I was able to score a chocolate covered banana dipped in English toffee and nuts. Yum! It is the little details that bring so much joy to life.
Oh, and speaking of little details, one more exciting note to the night was watching a baby chick hatch. It was wonderful. G and I sat for at least 30 or 40 minutes watching the baby chicks try to break out of their shells. One made it while we were there. We were routing and cheering and encouraging the baby through its ordeal. They actually had to shut the lights off to make us leave, we were so taken by the birth. *sigh* After such a life-affirming experience, on our way home, we walked through the parking lot adjacent to our back yard and G made big growling sounds until our puppies came out then he jumped out and scared them. Poor babies. Nasty boy. *sigh* Such a discipline problem. What to do, what to do. I guess I’ll just have to love him.
Good day at work today, more work tomorrow. Hopefully I’ll be able to meet Naudiz and Pjack for a spot of tea at 4:30. That would be a lovely way to end the work day. Okay, off to bed.
Oh,
sbloss, did you have any luck bike hunting?
