On this beautiful day of thanks, I'd like to ask if anyone knows of a chat client that works on Mac OS X that will allow me to access my Yahoo and Gmail accounts.
I was using Adium successfully for over a year. Than Yahoo just would drop for no reason. Now Yahoo won't load at all. I've tried removing and downloading fresh versions of it to no avail. So, I tried the Yahoo IM for Mac which loses messages and crashes so that it is non-responsive. I don't know about this until I try to use it and then I have to force quit out of it.
So, this leaves me with no way to access my Yahoo IM. I have been looking online and can't find anything that seems to work on a Mac. Trillium is Windows only. Pidgen doesn't work on Mac reliably, according to the reports I've read. There is this site at www.meebo.com that is online. I am thinking of trying it, I'm that desperate. Anyone heard any reports?
Which brings me to my apology for possibly ignoring or failing to respond to your messages. I really don't know how long my messages have been floating off into the ether. I'm actively working to correct the problem.

Have you tried the browser-based (Java, I think, but don't quote me) version of the "webmessenger" for Yahoo? --> http://webmessenger.yahoo.com/ It might mean leaving a browser instance (window) open with that client running in the background, but it's a work-around that might meet your needs for now...
I was pleasantly surprised that it would let me do some of the things that the non-"official" Yahoo clients won't, too. :o)
Regardless, good luck in the search! :o)

Have you updated it lately? I know an update came out last month.

Yeah, it doesn't even try to find Yahoo on its own. I have to go into status and ask it to. Then it crunches for 10 minutes and resigns itself to failure. I can't find another mac program that works with both Google talk and Yahoo. I'm trying an online client now. It's clunky in comparison. I guess we'll see how it works. Otherwise, I have to abandon Yahoo as a chat engine since I have tried everything I can find out there.

That's all I can do right now. I don't know what else to try without being there. *sends good vibes*

I used to use meebo when I was bound to a machine that didn't have messengers.
Doing a quick search on download.com I found This Program. It seems to run everything you need.
Hope that's helpful!
