I left for AmberCon NW on Wednesday, hale and hearty. I had immense amounts of fun and met some amazingly cool people. I went to bed Saturday night with a bit of a sore throat and woke Sunday with the beginnings of what has become a nasty little piece of ick. Ah well. I made it home safely despite the plague. I hope no one else at the con gets it and I'm sorry if I passed this to anyone else. I left as soon as I could.
Which brings me to my premature departure. I was really hoping to connect with people before I left. There were a few people I wanted to thank and exchange info with for the year ahead. Whether they'll see it or not, I'll post them here.
Simone - Thank you for organizing the event. It was a wonderful inaugural con for me. I appreciate your diligent efforts to make it a great weekend.
All my GMs - I played in many games and, though I intended to thank them all at the game, if I didn't, I'd like to send my gratitude for your time and your organization to bring the fun and laughter. I truly enjoyed myself.
All my fellow players - I appreciate your great role playing and your ability to put up with me and my lack of Amber knowledge. I had a lot of fun in everything I played.
Jason (your last name is misplaced in my congested head in the moment) - I wanted to exchange contact information with you. Firstly, you're a fun person. Secondly, you have amazing patience teaching a lug like me how to play Texas Hold'em. Thirdly, I would love to be able to keep in touch and possibly have lunch when we're in the same neighbourhood. I have a feeling that you and my husband will have a wonderful time together since you're both entrepreneurs. I'm sure you'd have lots of contacts and ideas to exchange. Plus, I had a great time with Michelle in Jeremy's game.
