Hey, I’m alive and well and ready to re-enter the state of Internet social activity again.

I’ve not been a hermit in reality, but, due to a series of comical and practical reasons, I’ve been off the Internet since the 5th of June. Long story.

Okay, I’ll briefly address the current state of affairs. Morgana, the 9 year old puppy that recently had a double mastectomy and total hysterectomy, is doing fine. She is happy and energetic… and I am relieved. The poor baby had a 4 inch opening in her body for the surgery and she only has a 12 inch long body. She is so amazing and I am thankful every day for her presence in my life.

My Mom was so concerned about Morgana that she decided to drive to Eugene, Oregon from Houston, Texas just to visit. She drove 2,600 miles in 4.5 days. My Mom is an amazing 73 year old. It has been a great visit. Everyone has been happy, we’ve thoroughly enjoyed having her, and we are very sad that she is going to leave us bright and early tomorrow morning. I have spent most of this visit trying to convince her that she needs to move up here and be with us. When we return from Australia, G and I will go house hunting for her. I’d like to have her here before the year is out.

I also want to thank all my friends for making her so welcome. She enjoyed you all. I also appreciate the efforts some of you went through to help me convince her to move here. Your support is amazing and I am honored that you all care so much. Thank you.

So, it’s been a busy few weeks. I’ve been in a hyper-social mode trying to make sure Mom met all my friends while she is here so she knows who I’m talking about when I tell her of my antics. I’ve also spent lots of quality time with Mom. We’ve played many games of Scrabble, I’ve read her bedtime stories almost every night, we’ve gone to tea, explored Portland… all kinds of wonderful, quality time. I’m so thrilled that everything has worked out so well.

So, I have much LJ reading to catch up on, and I will be doing that for the next couple of days, I suspect. I’ll post again about our telephone adventures and how [livejournal.com profile] biomekanic became a god meriting his own temple and priestesses. I’ll see what I can do about signing up Danielle Dax. If I’m successful, you’ll be the most popular new god on the block with all the great music and classy gardens your temple shall have. Lucky boy!

Oh no! She's leaving tomorrow morning? Drat! I was going to try to come visit tomorrow after tea. I don't suppose you lovely ladies will be there? *hint hint hint* ;)

Your mother is a wonderful lady. I hope you do talk her into visiting again soon, because I really enjoyed meeting her.

Re:

She left this morning. I am sad. G is taking me to the country for the day. I doubt we shall make it to tea. I will talk later. Very sad.

Luckily, G. responded to my e-mail and I knew you were all okay.

After Mache had her operation, (at a year old) she had a giant incision too. The shaved portion was the size and shape of a car tire mark. She sleeps like the dead. We took to calling her road kill.

You poor, suffering man! How was the wedding? I am so far behind in catching up on LJ posts, I haven't read so far to see if you posted about it.
