Last night, I had a plan. I was going to get up, ride to a café and get as much done on the email correspondence workbook I'm writing for Mr. Gerber. That was the plan.

When I rose, I decided I needed a shower. Well, before I take a shower, it's a better idea to finish scrubbing the walls of the mural room. I want to clean it, paint the closet, touch up the nicks in the landscape and, time permitting, add the two deciduous trees I have envisioned before the International student arrives. So, day two of scrubbing the walls happened.

Once I was done and actually clean and showered, G had left for his lunch appointment. I decided to set up shop on the deck and work here. I set up the computer, put in a load of laundry, made tea and lunch and opened all my documentation to begin. And I did begin. Then, between loads of laundry, phone calls, three dozen little sparrows complaining loudly over my head about the emptiness of the feeder until I filled it (really, they sat above my head and chirped really loudly until I filled it, then they descended upon it en masse and ate about a quarter of the seed I just put in there), G coming back with Brad, more laundry, and making rice to prep for dinner, I didn't actually accomplish much. *sigh* I mean, I did a LOT of work today, just none of it happened to be the work I had intended.

And this is why I try to take these things to a café. I've been almost every day this week and that's where all my work has been done. Once I'm home, I'm hosed. At a café, I have absolutely nothing better to do than the work I've brought with me. And I'm very careful to only bring work, I resist the urge to pick up the crossword in the paper on the table near me, I often don't bring my computer unless it's computer based work. I'm very special, eh? So, I'm thinking maybe Monday for this assignment.
