Tonight's D&D game became pretty intense. The notes were flying, there is inter-party intrigue, missing persons, dead bodies... and Zach cut us off at the apex of energy. Now we have to wait 2 weeks to follow through. What's worse -- G and I no sooner hit the road to head home when the following conversation occurred.

G: Wow. There's some stuff happening in the game.
Me: Yeah! Isn't it awesome!
G: I hate when there's inter-party conflict and secret notes. That's never good for the team.
Me: I'm excited. Whatever happens, it will be tragic, fun or tragically fun.
G: And I can't tell you anything about what's going on.
Me: Nope. I can't tell you anything, either.

Silence.

Birds and crickets chirping.

For at least a minute or two. Then we both looked at each other and started laughing because it's absolutely ridiculous that we would have nothing in our long marriage to talk about together save what's happening to our characters in one game. Yet, there was silence. Thick, heavy silence.

Then we spent the rest of the ride home speculating with great mirth on how silent the next couple of weeks would be until the next game. We are silly, silly people.

Okay, I'm going to make us some matcha, then sit in the living room with my husband and not talk to him. *giggles*

Thanks Zach! *hugs*

It's very funny that as I was reading this, I got an email from Buddy about Warcraft.

Couples who play together . . .

It's true. G and I do many things together. We work together, play together... it's fun to have the commonalities.

We work together, as well. And it's all surprisingly good. I guess it really can work if you don't feel a need to get breaks from your partner, you know?

I didn't realize you both worked together, too. I must have missed that somewhere along the way. It's different, yes? I didn't know if I'd be able to pull it off, but it's been marvelous.

It's different. My ex and I could never have done it. But Buddy and I do it very well. I would miss him a lot if we didn't work together.

It sounds like you've found someone who moves and flows with you in beautiful ways. That's so awesome! *happy dance*
