The weather has been great. I've been snow hiking around Lost Lake, hanging out in the room, wandering around the village and doing lots of things for me. I took with me knitting (barely touched), my journal (scribbled in liberally), a novel (still not done), a book of meditations (mostly finished), a book on how to talk to teens (started), my sketchbooks along with colored pencils and watercolor pencils (used daily). I also wrote some marketing material for G this morning. By writing, I mean I was inspired to stand up and rant and rave while he quickly typed my speech, then I edited it. I must say, it's some of my better copy. I should stream of conscious rant more often. Now, I simply need a secretary to follow me around and write all my brilliance (excluding all the drivel) into a stenopad.

I've really enjoyed my time drawing. I always do, when I do it. It's the commitment to sit down and draw that seems the most difficult. Sometimes I manage to set up my materials and sit for a moment collecting myself before I'm drawn away (har har, unintentional pun) on some other task. Sometimes I begin and have a great start before calamity strikes or my time is over. By being in a place other than home, I am mostly unmolested. The past two days, G has gone down to the public hot tubs to soak and I spent that time gloriously alone with Duke Ellington, Ramsey Lewis and Billie Holiday working on my sketches. It's been a long time since I've played in color, so I'm very happy to be practicing. No great works yet, just me re-familiarizing myself with the medium. I think I'll have to plan some trips to the coast or, at the very least, sit in a café where no one will intentionally stop me for another project.

Tomorrow is our last day in Whistler. Where did the time go? Back to Vancouver for more business meetings on Friday and probably Saturday. We'll be driving home Sunday.
