The many thanks to [personal profile] lurkitty

Thank you to [livejournal.com profile] lurkitty for allowing me to borrow her Thai cookbooks. I completely kicked butt on making a green curry and tom yum gong soup. Since I'd not made it before, it turned out a little spicier than I'd have liked for Jamica, and that was using only half the chili called for. Today, we eat the leftovers. Yay!

I am in the mood to stain the deck for the season but it's looking pretty bleak this week. I spent the warm sunny days this past week dealing with lawn and beds. Now I need to wait for another break in the rain for staining.

I'm feeling in the mood for a café today. Maybe I'll pull my laptop off my desk and head out to envelope myself in café society. I have oodles of books to read as many of my library queue seemed to have come in simultaneously. I've had to put a hold on the rest. Plus, I'm reworking iTunes. I finally used a program that [livejournal.com profile] lurkitty (thanks again! You are clearly my savior and guru and I don't know how I could live my digital life without you at this point.) found for me to pull the songs off my iPod and put them back into iTunes. It worked, but it wasn't easy. I had to do most of it manually and there are doubles of most songs, triples and quadruples of some and the playlists assignments are scattered. So, I have thousands of songs to go through, reassign and delete. Hours of work. Fortunately, I have some really great history class podcasts from Berkeley that I'm currently enjoying. I can do that while I mend iTunes. When I am done, there will be a ghosting of this machine. Oh yes, yes there will (when this happens, [livejournal.com profile] lurkitty will be thanked yet again). Doing this once when I first bought her was more than enough. Doing it a second time is less than desirable. Lessons learned. Folks, keep me away from your computers. I'm randomly destructive just by my mere presence. This is not true for anything else. I usually fix stuff. *sigh*

Awwwww *sniff* *hugs*

Tom yum leftovers are da bomb! It's always better the second day!

BTW, I should know what my schedule is after Monday so I can figure out where I'll be when. At the very least, I'll make it over there for tea some evening.

I figure I'll throw the open invitation out to you. If you're ever too tired to drive home, you can crash here. If you need food to brace yourself for the road, let me know. At the very least I'll accompany you to a restaurant if I have no food prepared at home that you can eat.
