It’s been a productive day, so far. I’ve not really gotten any of my mail or bookwork done, but I’ve been successful in other spheres.

I began the day with a lovely phone conversation with [livejournal.com profile] queenmom1. I’m so happy to hear she is doing a great job holding boundaries, modeling great behavior and organizing her family. I’m optimistic she’ll start posting in her new LJ any day now. *winks*

I then bought breakfast croissants, coffee and a lunch croissant for [livejournal.com profile] dreadygoddess. When I barged into her home I found her curled in bed with Bucket. Since I was promised eggs for breakfast, I saw no alternative save pounce upon the two of them to roust them out of torpor. Breakfast was had, coffee was drunk, wonderful conversation was exchanged and exciting new developments were revealed.

After parting much too soon, I headed to Pisgah for a wonderful jaunt through the wilderness followed by yardwork at home. I winterized most of the yard and deck, potted a baby spider plant I had been rooting for the living room and dealt with some of the new grass issue. I attempted to mow the fresh, green sprouts with the push mower to laughable results. I really did smile as the mower did nothing but push the heavy, wet little shoots flat to the ground without trimming them in the least. On to plan B. I grabbed the weed whacker and began the plodding mosey up and down the yard in various degrees of rain. I managed to accomplish most of the back before the battery was drained beyond usefulness. This leaves a patch of back and all the front to manicure later.

Once inside, I continued my cleaning by attacking both myself and the bathroom with a scrub brush and soap. Next came the kitchen surfaces. I’m going to post this and return to the kitchen to create a curry for dinner. Then, I want to relax. It’s been both a joyful and exhausting weekend and early week. I probably should explain that further, but that is for another time.
