Qwest is here replacing the whole main wire that comes into the neighbourhood. Apparently, we weren't the only ones having issues when it rains. The big grammar school next door was having issues, too. Hopefully, our internet will be stable after this. The line has been there since the 1950's and was scheduled to be replaced today. It was sheer coincidence that it happened to be the day the repair person was going to come out. We've canceled our repair order to see if this major cable replacement does the trick.
