I had a productive day on Friday and a great dinner with Areum at a new (to me) restaurant downtown called The Vintage. It's very cute and it specializes in crepes and fondue. We had wonderful discussions about international issues, politics, religion, her classes this term and my latest business updates. As you can see, I'm not terribly good at avoiding the main taboo subjects of conversation. I'm actually more about breaking those taboos.
During our dinner together, G called to inform me that he neglected to bring his keys with him when he left with Sean for his meeting. He met us at the restaurant and mounted the stairs to our table bearing a bouquet of irises. For me. They are before me in a vase right now.
Areum was adorably impressed by the romance of it all. I did nothing to shatter her illusions about our relationship. G is not the Romantic thinker. He's a man of action. He shows he loves me in very practical ways. I don't expect anything else from him. I knew seconds after he presented me with the flowers that it must have been Sean who prompted the thought. I love him for all that he is.
During dinner, I also discussed my crepe making experiences. I had Areum all excited about the fresh mangos I had on my kitchen counter. We agreed that we would return to Avalonne after the dinner and I would make dessert crepe for us. She loved it. I'm going to give her lessons and have her make a batch for me to practice. Her Mom's birthday is soon after she returns to Korea and it would be a great gift for her to impress her Mom with her new cooking skills.

A girlfriend of mine just raves about it.
Honestly- how kid friendly would you rate it?
