I have been having a wonderful week. I’ve made some jewelry and been sketching a lot of designs which brings me great happiness. We’ve had lots of friends over, I’ve made lots of tea and munchables, and we’ve the most beautiful garden full of flowers. Yeah us. Twice now in the past week, George, Flex and I have gone to a store for one or two items and ended up spending 3 hours just roaming the aisles having fun. We are, at times, loud, laughing, riding the bikes up and down the aisle where they sit, playing hide and seek in the plant departments… it’s amazing we are not reprimanded. What fun!

This weekend we are going to Silver Creek Falls to camp with a bunch of fellow gamers. Well, it used to be a group of old buddies that would all coalesce in one person’s place for a weekend of network computer gaming. This was called “nerd fest.” Now that most of them have wives and families, they all find a large rentable house or cottages in a cool spot and all the families bring board games, cards, all kinds of food and snacks… then we all play together. It’s always kid friendly and we have a great time. I’m looking forward to that. I’ll have to food shop in the morning and then food prep in the afternoon.

I’m missing [livejournal.com profile] dreadygoddess. She’s in Seattle this week. It’s funny how I might be able to exist for weeks at a time without actually seeing a really close friend, but knowing they are a mere bike ride away makes it okay. Once they are removed from my immediate vicinity, I pine. I feel that way about many of my friends that have moved away. I especially felt that way in Australia where I was the one so far removed from all.

Here is a little questionnaire provided by [livejournal.com profile] kittekaat who I hope is having great fun at the coast with her Mom.

A - Act your age?
Hmmm… I suspect there is no hard and fast rule on the parameters of acting one’s age. I also suspect that I only might act my age when I absolutely have to. The rest of the time, I’m just too busy having fun.

B - Born on what day of the week?
Tuesday. I think that means I should be full of grace. Oh well, there are no constants in life. *grin*

C - Chore you hate?
For some inexplicable reason, I absolutely deplore scrubbing the bathtub. Wait, I’ve thought of a chore I hate even more – climbing on the roof and cleaning the gutters! I put that one off for far too long between cleanings.

D - Dad's name?
Carmine Iacone

E - Essential makeup item?
Is lip balm considered makeup? If so, I use it many times a day. The only other makeup-like things I do might be lipstick (well, if you are going to use lip balm, then colored lip balm isn’t a far stretch) and glitter. I like sparkly things. Ooooh! Bright shiny object! Bright shiny object!

F - Favorite director?
Oh, my. Too many to even think about listing. My list begins way back in the 30’s, so I won’t even begin.

G - Gold or silver?
I love silver. I’ve always said I would rather own all the silver in the world than all the gold. I’ve never been very profit driven, have I? *wink*

H - Hometown?
East Greenwich, Rhode Island

I - Instruments you play?
I have no illusions, therefore I will not claim to play any instruments. The one I’d most like to learn, though, is voice.

J - Job title?
Artist

K - Kids?
The two most wonderful puppies in the world. I’ve just not gotten around to having my child yet. Maybe in the next couple of years.

L - Living arrangements?
I live in Avalonne. Can you imagine a better place? It is a beautiful house with a shady yard, peachy-pink walls in the main part of the house, lots of soft cushions and throw pillows, and it is completely Carol-ized. I’ve crawled on or in almost every nook and cranny in Avalonne. We share DNA. I also share it with my beloved puppies, my wonderful mate and a great friend, not to mention all the people that just love to come here to spend time. There has been many a time when I’ve been gone most of the day and return home to friends sitting around my house waiting for me to return. Life is great and I am truly blessed.

M - Mom's name?
Claire Marie Bernadette Boucher Iacone (My Mom’s multiple names help to balance the fact that my Dad had only a first and last. See, there is balance in the universe!)

N - Number of people you've slept with?
Only the most special people.

O - Overnight hospital stays?
When I was 4-5 years old, I was hospitalized with ulcerative colitis. It has taken years of work, but my colon and I are getting along famously now. Yeah us!

P - Phobia?
I’m not crazy about heights, but I still have to clean the gutters. I don’t think it counts as a phobia because it isn’t a paralyzing fear. It’s just that I am more comfortable on the ground.

Q - Quote you like?
I have a huge list of them. I actually have this list set up in my Outlook and I switch them around as my sig files in my email program.

R - Religious affiliation?
I am the one and only member of the non-proselytizing Church of Carol. I believe that everyone should have some form of faith, whatever it is that works the best for them. As far as organized religions go, I have no entangling alliances. *wink*

S - Siblings?
I am the one, the only… the Carol!

T - Time you wake up?
It varies. If I can go to bed early, I wake early. The same is true for the reverse.

U - Unique habit?
I have a great many habits. I don’t think any of them are unique. Hang on a minute… I’ll ask. *you now hear the sound of Carol padding down the hall. There is a mumble of voices, an outburst of song that sounds something like the theme from the 60’s Batman show but the words sound quite different and more than less irreverent. Then the padding of returning feet and…* Well, that was productive. You ask a question here and get exactly the answers you want. I have been told that I have several unique habits. The top three are my hugging habit (everyone must have one… it’s my law!), I always carry a bag of holding (whether this is a purse or a backpack, it matters not. I just always have a bag that inevitably holds just the thing someone needs. If I can’t produce the thing itself from the bag, there is a 20% chance that I can make the item from the contents therein), and I walk on my tip-toes. Always have, always will, apparently. *giggle* Is that unique enough?

V - Vegetable you refuse to eat?
I am a vegetarian. It’s hard to find a vegetable I refuse to eat… yet I have a 10 pea limit. If a dish has peas in it, I likely will not eat more than 10 of them. This is greatly improved from my younger years when the pea tolerance was slightly less than zero. I’m getting better… I hope to be up to 25 or so before I die. Everyone needs goals! *smirk*

W- Worst habit?
Oh dear… there must be a million. Let’s just leave it at the fact that I am constantly trying to improve myself.

X - X-rays you've had?
I’ve had quite a few over my lifetime. Only teeth and torso.

Y - Yummy food you make?
Well, I’m afraid I’m biased and I’ll have to say that all the food I make is yummy to me. Of the food that I’m asked to make repeatedly for others, I’d rank smoothies, banana bread, sushi, rice vermicelli salad, fresh rice rolls, salads, cakes, pancakes and my tapanade.

Z - Zodiac Sign?
Aquarius
