Another baby step toward my goal of building my own home... someday... I found a book that had some great ideas. I borrowed the book from the library yesterday during my "errand running day" festivities and this morning I'm copying the really cool stuff to add to my Dream Home folder. I've been working on this folder since I was probably 15 or so. There are several sub chunks in a box in the garage but the cream of the crop sits in my desk drawer.
I have been working the last 3 years or so on gathering information to "get off the grid." I would love to find property with a water source, lots of trees and possibly a good current of wind. I want to be able to have my own well, solar and wind electricity, and room to garden. I've been looking into alternative building materials and hay bale houses have me intrigued. I am still researching and something new tends to present itself on a regular basis, thus adding and changing my views. Someday, I'll just gather my folders together and plop them in front of an architect/contractor and beg for help.
Anyhow, my scanning is finished. I shall get on with my day.
