This morning we put George’s office back together. It is the only room of the house left with a carpet and it was beyond time to clean it. We had it professionally done and the room feels much better. I just picked some daffodils and tulips from our garden to make a sunny little bouquet for his desk. They smell wonderful, too.
This afternoon, I have returned from the accountant, I have weeded the front flower bed so my tulips and daffodils won’t be overcome by the clover, and I am about to go solder some minis for G. He scored a whole box of minis at the Con for major savings and is sitting at the dining room table trying to glue the little bits together. I’ve commanded that he weed out all the lead-based ones and given him a few rudimentary tools to help his little project (a knife, sandpaper, a file) but, bless his little heart, he is having nothing but frustrations. I came in from weeding to hear him practically whining a desperate request for help. I looked the situation over and decided I don’t have the patience for glue. I took the mini in question into the garage and soldered it for him. When I presented it, he looked so absolutely thrilled that I have relented and told him I would solder a few of the most desirable minis for him. I must love this man of mine.
Note: To all geeks and gamers reading this, this does not mean I am going into the mini soldering business. For this to happen, it would take outrageous amounts of favor and gifts for me to do this. This does not mean I won’t solder for you… it just means you must be prepared to shmooze like you’ve never shmoozed before.
I am off to play with fire and make metal bend to my will. *moo-ha-ha!*
