I forgot to mention a weird conversation we overheard at the zoo, Friday. We were watching the camel and a young girl and her mother were behind us passing.

The little girl cried, “Mommy, Mommy! Look at that! Can you take a picture of that?”
Mommy: No. I don’t want to take pictures of the animals.
Girl: Then why did you bring the camera?
Mommy: Because I want to take pictures of you.
Girl: *frustrated*
G and MiLady: *boggle*

Good grief. My suggested solution would have been to take a picture of the girl in front of the animal of which she wanted a picture. Case closed, everyone is happy. *shakes head*

That's the conclusion we reached as well. We have tons of cute pics of Birdie standing besides seals, sea lions, otters, starfish...

But in the mom's defense, I can't count the number of "parental brainfarts" Hub & I have on a daily basis. Sometimes in the rush and worry and hurry the obvious is the LAST thing to occur to us. *shrugs*

I understand those moments, as well. I just remember that G and I were shocked. Obviously, the mom was having a bad moment. Still, one has to hope that it isn't a moment like that that the child remembers for the rest of their life. *sigh*
