Well, I haven’t written in a while. It’s been a blur of happiness and errands and friends and cleaning and… well, so much.
George and I have cleaned and resettled in preparation for packing up the house. I am thoroughly enjoying having a kitchen again. While staying at The Parents’ house, I felt rather uncomfortable when I tried to cook in that small cramped kitchen where nothing was familiar and there were always at least one or two other people cooking. Most of my time in AU was spent eating raw foods and easy soups that I could prepare in a corner and quickly boil. Since we’ve been back, I’ve made a birthday cake, cookies, big breakfasts every morning… you get the picture. My only regret is that I brought most of my pots and pans to AU so I only have access to three at the moment. There is much shuffling of utensils, I assure you.
I am also grateful to be able to go to my familiar stores and find all the products I know and love right there before me. It has a very basic level of comfort to it. *sigh* I must take it all in while I can, AU doesn’t have many of my eco-friendly, organic products. One must search hard to find replacements, but I still hold that I will eventually find some Mecca store where all the products are just waiting for me to find them.
I have had a wonderful time with all my friends. It is sooooo good to see them all again. I’m in heaven! The energy is so good and so supporting. I really feel completely happy. I have even been fortunate enough to see my wonderful friends
lethran and skyemage. They live very far north of me and I didn’t expect I’d have the opportunity to see them before I left again. Fortunately, they drove down to Portland and George and I drove up and we spent an afternoon together. As a matter of fact, we managed to ensnare Lethran and we currently have the honor of hosting her for a visit until Sunday. It is so much more than I had hoped!
I am so appreciative of these precious moments I spend with everyone. I love these people so much, it hurts to think I won’t be able to see them for long stretches of time. I am truly blessed to have such people in my life.
I am going to wave some breakfast under Lethran’s nose and see if she wakes. We had a wonderful Hobbit-like meal last night of bread and cheese with assorted fresh herbs and veggies. I don’t usually eat much cheese, so it was quite a treat. I’m sure I’ll be paying for it later, but it was absolutely luxurious going down. We bought dill chevre, havarti and red dragon cheese with mustard seed and some kind of ale in it. Such decadence! And to think, we are also going to a large tea party today at Savouré as well!
LIFE IS GREAT!!!
