We're on the return leg of our journey through Queensland. We'll likely be back to Sydney in a week. Everything has been really great so far... well, except for my wrist. But, hey. I strained my right wrist kayaking for 1 hour 40 minutes straight on the first. I should know better, right? I was in the kayak by myself and I had to paddle constantly to keep up with the siblings in their double one even though they were taking lots of breaks. It's not like I do this weekly. I am the old fart weekend warrior! Yee ha! Things were going well until I went horseback riding a couple days ago. Since then, I've been writing with my left hand. C'est la vie. I'll have to nurse myself now. We had to cancel our other dive and the white water rafting. *sigh*
Nevertheless, we've been having a blast! Australia is pretty cool once you leave the big city. We've met the nicest people, been educated in rainforests and reefs, studied the tropical spiders of this region -- yes,
naudiz, I've been taking notes and thinking of you constantly! I think I even may have sounded a bit smarter than I am because of your influence. I can't wait to share all I've learned. Plus, pictures! I have some gorgeous pics of spiders and webs.
We plan to drive down to Mission Beach this afternoon and stay there a night or two. I'm hoping to have a room with a fridge so I can ice my wrist over the next couple of nights. It's not nearly as painful as my knee was, and I'm able to walk, so life is good. I'm sad to have to miss out on more reef time, though, but G is being all dictatorial and won't let me do anything. Little does he know how much this typing hurts. *sly snicker*
Okay, we're out of here!
Love to you all!
