Yesterday,
lurkitty presented me with a Certificate of Cat-Herding. I am, according to her, allowed to claim Cat-Herder on my resumé, regardless of the fact that it was an unsuccessful event.
I drove up to Lurkitty's house yesterday, we filled up my Subaru with TV, plants, and all manner of stuff to take to her new abode -- hey,
lurkitty, do you have a name yet for your new domicile -- that night. She decided to pack the two cats and all their equipment into her car and take them to the new place. It was a sheer comedy of near misses, grabs of a young gentlecat that seemed to dematerialize every time I thought I had him and, ultimately, failure. This is her newest adoptee, Tikka. We ended up leaving them both as Tikka was so thoroughly spooked he had squeezed himself into a tiny space under a dresser and we couldn't find him for over an hour.
Honestly, I didn't feel I should accept that title as it was unsuccessful. In the end, I am intensely grateful for my sweet little girls who jump into the car of their own accord, even when they know they are going to the vet. So easy.
