It's snowing here in Glacier National Park area. Yesterday was intermittent hail and snow, today is the white, fluffy, sticky stuff. This is majorly cool.

This morning, a real, live cowboy -- complete with hat and mud on his boots and jeans -- sat beside me for breakfast. He looked 100% like the genuine Montana rural image I have seen in books. It was only as he rose to leave, donned his worn leather jacket, then answered his mobile phone that the nostalgia was shattered.

The area around Glacier National Park is barely showing the effects of spring. It's too early for holiday season. Many attractions and restaurants are due to open at the end of May while most roads in the Park aren't open yet, either. We had to park and walk miles up the road to reach some of the hiking trails which were largely icy, snowy and muddy (which was a large dose of awesome in and of itself). We lunched on a footbridge spanning a wild white rapid river. I even had a chance to sketch in my little book while we munched in companionable silence. After all, what would be the point of trying to talk over that beautiful roaring ruckus? Pictures are sure to follow once transferred from the cameras.
