Yesterday, I had the opportunity to meet [livejournal.com profile] silverblue and her S.O.... and I grabbed it. She was only in Sydney for a few days and we were able to meet them for lunch and an adventure in the Sydney Harbour Aquarium. She is absolutely lovely and her S.O. is great fun. Thank you both for meeting us and inviting us to your home when we visit your area. You're incredibly sweet to do so. I'll let you know when we can schedule a trip south. I hope your drive home was calm and uneventful.

I'll have to write about the Aquarium later. Suffice it to say, it was well done and a great adventure.

G and I are going to take a few days and head for the mountains. We've booked a B&B and plan to see the Jenolan Caves. I need to finish tossing some clothes in a bag and head out the door. I woke at 4:30 this morning and couldn't fall back to sleep. I'm groggy. Ah well, I'll likely doze in the car.

Okay, I'm off.

Both her and her husband are beautiful people. Thank you for putting me in touch with her. I was tickled pink and very honoured by their heartfelt invitation to stay with them in Melbourne. *melt*

you will probably see this after you get back....have a good time up in the mountains.

If you want to meet up on neutral ground, take the train to Ashfield station( one of the main hubs on the inner west line ,by the way) exit the station on the liverpool road side and find Ashfield mall, a biggish shopping center. go inside and on the bottom level there is a 'Gloria Jeans' coffee shop. That is one of my hangouts. Usually there at about 4:30 ish most weekdays. give me a call on the cellphone 0418-453523 to let me know which day and I will make sure i'm there. what we do from there is up to you. if a Pub is more your scene, there is the 'Crockodile Farm' just near the mall entrance as an alternative.

let me know what you think?

That sounds great. I'd love to do it, but it shall have to wait a few weeks. We are going to travel a bit more before I have to settle in Sydney for a month. You'll know what I mean if you read more of my journal. I'll post when I return and you we'll find a date that works for us.

I'm more of a café girl. I don't drink, so pubs are less appealing than a nice pot of tea or a latté.

You mentioned a time that seems like the end of your work day. May I inquire what it is that you do? I know nothing about you except your general location.

I am an electrical contractor(electrician) who also used to make and use animal mascot costumes. Done a few things over the years. Unfortunately, my website is currently offline so I cant show you my work.My user info here has a bit of a summary though.

I will be out and about for the holidays too and will try and post when I can. Take care and see you when you get back:)

I'm glad to see you off to the mountains for awhile, esp. since we're getting news of riots on the outskirts of Sydney. Be careful, sweetie!

I didn't hear about that until I returned. I wish all of them peace in their hearts and understanding in their minds. *sighs and shakes head*

We got home safe and sound, but not till after midnight. S. got to post during the day so you probably already know we're OK, but I've only just had the chance for personal computing now.
It was lovely to meet you, and the invitation to stay was not just a heat of the moment thing. You are both very welcome anytime.

You are amazingly kind... and fun! I'm so grateful to have met you both. Hopefully, we'll have time to visit you. I want to see Melbourne, especially since it is said to be more like my home environment. Besides, spending more time with you would be far from horrible. *grin*

Personally, I don't know. Thank goodness. I do know they are closing all the beaches up and down New South Wales this weekend to try to stave riots there.
