What a week! Tomorrow’s the day. We’ll be heading toward the bottom of the world. Well, it would be the bottom from this perspective. Wednesday morning, I’ll consider it the top. Perspective. See?

The Knee Report: I hopped on my bike Friday morning for the first time in 9 weeks. It felt like I was flying! I laughed or smiled all through my commute. It felt great! I rode my bike to work on Saturday, as well. I can’t wait to return from Australia to hop back on my wheels and go for a really long ride. Sadly, I’ve not had enough time in the past week.

The Packing Report: Everything but the food and my hiking boots are packed. I’m hoping to squeeze in a trip up Mt. Pisgah before I have to sit on a cramped airplane for 15 or so hours. It will be a refreshing jaunt and it will be the last time I am able to really breathe my precious Eugene air before I head off to a big city.

Today: I was able to sneak out with [livejournal.com profile] naudiz for a quick errand this morning. The spending of cash and much laughter ensued. Plus, I pounced on a sleepy [livejournal.com profile] pjack in his own bed to steal one more hug from him. I simply AM the criminal element, non?

Then there was drama in the house with some last minute adjustments. My mini lights in the living room suddenly quit working, so I had to rush around and replace them before leaving. They are the ones on the timer so the house is lit at night. That was hectic. Plus, I decided to print a bunch of photos of my friends and family. I think I’ll make a little altar in my personal room to all the loves in my life. So, you’re all coming with me to Australia. Rockin’, eh?

The best part of tonight, though, was my evening with [livejournal.com profile] dreadygoddess. I brought the last of my Silk-nog and fruit to share while we spent a couple of hours together, but she completely out-did herself. She spoiled me rotten! I arrived and she had run a hot, steamy bath full of salts and lavender bubbles in her deep, deep tub. Candles and soft lights were scattered about the room, soothing music was playing… oh, great Universe! No one has ever before done something like that for me! I am still overwhelmed! We talked, laughed and soaked for over an hour. Sheer decadence! Then she fed me freshly jarred peaches she picked herself earlier this year. *swoon* I’m the luckiest girl, ever!

I have a pot of relaxing tea before me. I have beautiful music playing. I’ve lit candles about the room. I’m going to stretch a bit, then hit the sauna and, optimistically, shut my brain off for a few hours. This is no small task the night before a big trip. I have faith that this journey will be prosperous. I need to believe that I will be true to myself and that things will be better. If nothing else, I become a stronger, more self-actualized me.

Love to you all, hugs galore, and my undying gratitude that you are in my life.
