Today we finally finished painting the iron railing around the front of the house. We then showered, hopped on the train and met George’s old school friend, Gordon. Then we trotted down to Martin Place to meet Jason for a movie at the alternative theatre. The movie was Donnie Darko. Interesting movie, but I’m still deciding whether I really liked it or not.
We ate dinner with Jason and chatted for a long time. Then we parted ways and George and I walked along Circular Quay all the way around the Opera House. It was a lovely night, clear sky, cool breeze. Very nice, extremely romantic. It was so nice to see Orion… the only familiar constellation in the sky to me. It’s so odd how I really miss the two dippers and Cassiopeia. They’ve been in my sky every night of my life, whether I could see them or not. I guess they are just more old friends that are far away.
