Last night, G, Flex, Jamie and myself, went to Pisgah to watch the meteor shower. We were out there from 1-3am and, while the show wasn’t abundant and spectacular, I saw a few of the most beautiful meteors I’ve ever witnessed. One was extremely large and very slow (for a meteor). It literally took 30 or so seconds to streak across the sky and it had a huge arc. Wonderful.
This year we were smart to just bring our camping mats and blankets and forget about the chairs. The viewing was much easier from the ground. Next year, though, more blankets. After two hours of lying there, I was cold. After 30 minutes of lying there, G was snoring. This definitely kept the deer at bay but we half suspected there was a young female bear lurking at the edge of the woods trying to determine if it was a mating call or a youngling in distress. *giggle* It’s just as well she never came closer to inspect the situation. While G is adorable in my eyes, I highly suspect a bear would be rather disappointed in his mostly hairless physique. *grin* Ah well, her loss is my gain. I’ll keep him, despite his bear mating call snores.

Ben says I snore. I don't believe it....he is yet to prove it to me.
