Today is Trisha and Dustin’s wedding. I’m sitting here waiting for my hair to dry a bit so I can figure out what to do to make it look appropriate for a wedding. I don’t think they’d appreciate my casual windblown, helmet-hair, tossed up in a clip regular look. I’m also greatly heartened by the fact that when I tried on the gown for G yesterday, he laughed at me and told me I looked awful. Great. I’ll be the one up there dressed as a large, synthetic, lavender grape. Thankyouverymuch.

Yesterday, among my errands, I ran into a sidewalk sale at GI Joes. Since I was there for bike shorts anyhow, I thought I’d check it out. I enjoyed batting at the balloons as I walked toward the entrance, then I proceeded to buy Stuff We Don’t Need. The bike shorts weren’t on sale, but I bought them regardless. I did, however, walk out of the tent sale with a bocce ball game and a croquet set. I’ve always wanted those two lawn games. I loved them as a child. Now they are mine. MINE! We don’t need them, but we now have them. Anyone up for some lawn games?

Okay, I had better see about the primping. I have to be at Hendricks Park for pictures soon.

I love both bocce and croquet, in fact, we just played bocce last weekend at a friend's house. We have introduced the game to many friends. We play a guerilla version of both - no finely manicured lawns and measured playing fields, but put 'em where you want 'em, up hillocks and down, around trees, etc... Last weekend, we played bocce so late into the evening that we had to use a lazer pointer to locate the paloma!

That's it. Our next BBQ -- you're just going to have to come up here and play guerilla bocce. Don't know when it will be, T is leaving for another cruise...

Corvallis has a croquet club, by the way. There is a lovely graded, clipped field with a scoreboard and everything. Nice, but it is a different game.

If it helps any, when I got married I looked like a giant turnip. :( I KNEW I should have held out for the period wedding... (I've still got the 20 yards of white silk... soon to be a bellydance costume, and no longer white...)

So don't feel bad, just go have fun.

I did have fun. And I was probably the most relaxed girl there. The others were all upset and in a titter about one thing or another. Heat, nerves, whatever.
