Have you ever had one of those days where every project became an ordeal? I had such high hopes of actually making it out of the house today for errands. Alas, the cleaning stole my day. I did manage to have a nice meditative sit in the sauna for an hour, though. Of course, this was at the cost of scrubbing the tub, toilet and sink of the main bathroom. But I think I deserved it. I moved furniture in the bedroom that hadn’t been shifted for at least 2 years. The stuff behind there was frightening. I have never claimed my house cleaning skills were great. This proves it. Yick.

My day flitted off to the netherworld before I could catch my breath. Then it was off to a gathering tonight. It was lovely to see people with which I never really spend time. Isn’t it interesting how I can really enjoy someone a great deal, yet our paths cross only with great effort. It’s quite a shame. There are so many wonderful people and I only have a finite amount of time. It just doesn’t seem fair.

Before we knew where the time had gone, it was dark. I hopped on my bike and rode home only to find that G had bought me a bouquet of flowers and offered to make me dinner. Since I hadn’t eaten since breakfast, this sounded wonderful. While he did that, I changed the light bulb on the main lamp in the living room. Note to self to buy replacement bulb for the lamp in G’s room that was robbed to provide more necessary light in the living room. We then ate a lovely supper next to the thoughtful gift of flowers.

G and I spent some time together on the deck, ate some watermelon and had a wonderful time being blissfully quiet together. Now I shall retire to my much cleaner bedroom and my freshly laundered linens and curl up with my new book. *deep, contented sigh*

Hmmm....sometimes I think we're twins.

Our joy in domestic bliss is akin.

So cool you got flowers.

Twins, huh? Does this mean I'm a monkey girl? *grins* I was born under the monkey sign, but I don't think the descriptions sound like me at all.

I don't enjoy the housework so much for the doing as for the having done. I like to revel in my work. But that applies to all types of my work. I revel in a nicely baked dish, or a finely crafted bowl or piece of jewelry. They say pride goeth before the fall, so maybe that's why I'm so clumsy. *griggle*

And, yeah, FLOWERS!!! *beams and blushes*
