Yesterday was a busy day. There was a doctor appointment in the morning, I met G at EWEB (the local water and electric utility) to help a friend with her service, we had lunch at the Sushi Station, then I bought a gift for
kireishojo. After that, I rode home and wrapped both that gift and the necklace and earring set I had made for Trisha. Then I hopped back on the bike, rode across town to Kirei’s birthday party. I stayed for a while but, unfortunately, had to bolt right before the cake was served so I could make it to the Trisha’s bridal shower on time. I actually took the car for this because Mapquest made it look like it was a tad further into the south hills than I would want to tackle on a bike with a time limit. It would have taken me about 40 minutes on the bike and I only had left myself 20 minutes to commute. I just hated to leave Kirei’s party prematurely since it took me longer than I thought to actually arrive.
I’ve noticed that summer road construction is really bogging the traffic patterns. All my side roads and bike short cuts are becoming constipated with cars. It actually took me 40 minutes to ride out to Kirei’s party at 4:30pm and only 20 minutes to ride home from it at 6:15pm. Interesting. Same route, just different time. And there is a lot of road rage, as well. People are impatient and want to take advantage of any break in traffic to scoot their way further in their commute. Even if that means they cut off a bicyclist who has the right of way. *sighs* My greatest defense is to just stay vigilant.

We either have to move it, or abandon it in place and replace it. As an added bonus, it's an out of pocket expense for us.
There's going to be a lot of buried, abandoned wiring under these roads...
