I basically sneezed and snarfled my way through the day. Regardless of this, I worked almost entirely outside. After my doctor’s appointment (the bike commute was the first mistake in allergy-land… but… I’m a bicycle commuter. What am I supposed to do?) I ran to the Kiva for some groceries. Then I hid in my library for about 40 minutes to try to clear my head. I literally sneezed for at least 30 minutes. Straight. With no more than a minute or two between sneezes.

After I recuperated, I headed out to the yard where I tied back my roses and mowed the lawn. Then [livejournal.com profile] naudiz and [livejournal.com profile] sbloss arrived with 6 of Naudiz’s roses to repot. I did that, planted my new purple basil plant, the fuchsia starts I bought for G, and basil mint. Then, Naudiz and I went shopping for more loot at the nursery. She returned home with 6 begonias, a gorgeous deep purple columbine and three ground cover plants. We went back to her little patch of land where we dug and moved almost everything she had planted to make room for the new babies. I also walked out of the deal with more mint, oregano, lavender, yarrow and chamomile. Not a bad haul. Then I returned home and planted them all.

I think I’m really liking the container gardening. I have been shifting my pots around a lot to find just the right space for them. I have some hanging, on the steps, on the railing… It’s glorious. Everywhere I sit on the deck I’m near plants. It was a lot of hard work, though. My back is a bit achy from all the lifting and bending. I’ve showered and I think I shall retire to the living room for a spell to unwind before bed. I had G order me a Pizza Research Institute pizza for dinner as I hadn’t eaten since 8 in the morning and I was a bit on the peckish side. I knew by the time I had finished at 7pm that I would be too hungry to cook for myself. That’s never good. So I sat on my deck, ate my pizza, and felt very self-satisfied.

Tomorrow: The inside of the house. And if G hasn’t finished moving his stuff back into his office, I’m going to do it all myself and leave him with a big pile to deal with at his leisure. Me, I need to clean this house. It is mandatory at this stage.
