I am sending in my registration form for Egils today. I wasn’t going to go because everyone else seems to have lost interest but JR called last night and said he was going, so we’re in as well. Anyone else have an interest in camping this year? Egil's is held at Lynx Hollow State Park in Creswell, OR on the Coast Fork of the Willamette River about 15 minutes from Eugene.

We’ll be camping in the non-period area as we have a modern tent and I’m just not much for the acting thing. It’s just regular old me in a bodice. Anyone wanting to join us for the weekend of Memorial day… May 27-30.

Pre-reg needs to be postmarked by May 1. The website is http://www.egils.org/index.htm
There is some weird land camping thing that JR is going to figure out and tell me if we need a group spot.

I'm thinking James and I will likely come. There's another camping SCA like thing going on the same time that another friend was going to go to, but I still haven't decided yet. Egils is more a tradition thing, ya know. So, should be there. Hum. Need to send in pre-reg soon... hum...

i'm going with will and robyn in a group. i'm sure you'd be welcome to camp with us. we are however doing a hostel. will is available to ask about that. the more the merrier.

I still planning on going but must get pre-reg in. Oh, yeah, and figure out how I'm getting there, though I have a back-up plan.

I'd be interested in group camping if it's not in the loud party area. I don't mind visiting the party, but I do like to sleep at night...

I don't party. I prefer a quiet evening around the campfire with fun discussions and laughter. I don't drink. I plan to flirt madly with stern rules about no follow-through. It's all about good friends by the fire and cool costumes. I'd be honoured for your company.

Cool. I have a tent, but m hoping to have a better, larger one by then - but not huge. I know it gets tight at Egils, hence all the weird land stuff. I see on the pre-reg form that it has a spot to put your "Group Name" - since we don't appear to have one, save a spot for me, please?

Dang. I think May Crown is very close to that this year... 'Tis the season!

Hmmmm. Egils. "This is x Egil y. He's exactly 3 months old. YOU do the math..." Ah Egils. Egils for me changed when it moved from Zumwald. When the traditional camping spot for 7 Globes was suddenly on the other side of the county, there was just something missing. It also seemed to get more and more party-ish and less and less SCA-ish.

On the other hand, I'm now complaining about the SCA because out here at least it comes across as more and more Ph.D.-ish. If I wanted to write research papers I'd still be in school. If I wanted SLAVISH attention to detail I'd have joined the Rev-war reenactors. LOL

I'm just grumpy today. Don't mind me.
