This morning was wonderful. I had a surprise breakfast with the charming
sbloss at the Ye Olde Pancake House (I’m snacking on my leftovers right now) before I ran off to my knitting class. I’m starting a sweater. A Carol sized sweater. *squee* Since I was only making scarves a couple of months ago, I’m thrilled.
The rest of the afternoon was spent moving large and heavy objects off the old, decrepit deck and digging up a four foot wide swath of my bulbs to allow for the new deck’s expansion. All my deck plants are sitting in my shady yard. All my bulbs and rhizomes are in buckets, also in the shade of my yard. If my poor babies survive, I’ll be very happy. But, it’s all worth it for a safe and happy deck. I’ve made them all promises of a bigger deck and new, fluffy soil if they pull through.
Interesting note: I’m a goofball. Yah, I know, you already realize this, but, I have more proof. The phone just rang and I answered. The voice on the other end sounded just like my friend Dustin who isn’t coming over tonight because his grandma is ill. I really like her, so I immediately asked with great fervor after her health. The poor man on the other end who didn’t know me from Jack (or Jill, for that matter) stuttered and declared he had no idea what I was talking about. Gah! I apologized and we laughed and then he confessed that he had just finished talking to some man on the phone who he thought was G and had immediately launched into a whole barrage of business information before the other man could explain he wasn’t G. We laughed more. I’m the biggest winner evah! *giggles and wanders away from the computer to ice her aching back*
