In yet another installment of my excitingly boring life, we see our heroine calling a local plumber in to seat my new toilet. Ooops, I just changed person there. Oh well, love me, love that the grammar police are always only two blocks behind me at any stage of the game.
Anyhow, I scored two new toilets recently after the home show for $70 each. They are low flow toilets with only 1.5 US gallons (about 3.75 litres) of water per flush. I was going to try my hand at doing this myself but, after reading the directions where they had at least 7 different warnings that sounded incredibly complex and important, I decided to call in a professional lest I flood my house or create a gas bubble in my sewer pipe. Goodness, I don’t want to see what happens should that thing decide to burp. Ick. I’m actually glad to have called the professional as, while the installation was far more basic than the directions insinuated, I apparently have problems with the toilet flange having dropped below the sub-floor. This, for the long term, is not good. So, I have a toilet, but it is temporarily installed until I bring in a carpenter to replace the area under the toilet. Again, structural stuff, I’m not so keen on doing that and messing it up. It seems like I have a lot of projects on the stove and I can’t quite finish any of them. They all are started and in various stages of completion. *sigh* I must admit, though, I wouldn’t trade the joys of home ownership for all the ease of renting. There is just such satisfaction and peace of mind in truly owning something. Well, I guess the truly owning will arrive in another 12 or so years when I’ve paid off the note. But, that’s okay. That day, you’re all invited to the party. I’ll raise a pit fire in the backyard and have vegetarian marshmallows, dark chocolate and cinnamon-free graham cracker s’mores. Until then, you’ll all just have to settle for tea on the back deck. *smiles warmly*
Hmmm... does the fact that I'm excited about a new low-flow toilet that I scored for $70 say something about how extremely boring my life really is? One wonders...

I was gonna comment on that too! That the SGA (Swanky Garden Apt)'s toilet worries me with its low-flowness.
I think we're getting sewer odors from the low level of H20.
Poor guy.
Milady....I sooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo miss tea at Avalonne. I'mm there in spirit. And don't worry, your Monster House fu is intact even tho you called in the pro's.

I know how you feel. I'm excited about removing wallpaper for goodness sakes. :) I think the fact that I CAN do things to my house is going to overshadow the fact that I HAVE to do things to my house in the long run.
Let me know how you like your low-flow toilet. I've HATED the ones I've had in apartments, as they never seem to flush completely without a good plunging. I'm curious to know how a real one (face it. Apartments NEVER install good equipment) works.
