George and I had an errand day today. We drove up to Chatswood where the tea house we went to the other night was. We tried to find the only Victoria’s Secret there was in the White Pages. Somehow, it eluded us. We walked around and couldn’t find it so we went to the tea shop and I ordered a couple of teas to go, then we walked over to a bead store. Unfortunately, it was a million and one plastic beads with no crystal nor semi-precious beads. *sigh* They did give me the name of another shop that has semi-precious beads. It’s downtown. I’ll go look it up on the map.
While I was checking out the bead shop, George found an Australian meat pie shop. They had a veggie pie so we each had a bit of a snack. Then we walked back to the car and tried again to find the Victoria’s Secret via automobile. Still no luck. I’ll have to give them a ring to see if they really exist. I’d hate to have to order my bras with international shipping.
We then crossed over to the edge of the city and went to the Glebe area where rumours of a large natural food store existed. Large it was. Complete, it was not. Oh what I wouldn't give for the Kiva to open up here. The bulk food is abysmal, the shampoos and cleaners are largely containing the same icky poisons the standard markets have in theirs. I'm kind of saddened by the experience.
I haven't given up. There are still a few stores left to try. Perhaps the next one will be better equipped.
On a brighter note, I now have a local library card. It is a tiny library, but I can walk to it. There are larger libraries for me to explore, but this is a start.
