It’s a beautiful morning. The sun is shining, the air is crisp, I had a full night’s sleep… Life is good! I am also very happy that the girls decided to sleep with me last night. They are always quite put out when part of the pack is missing from the den at night. When G and Flex didn’t come home Friday night (they have gone camping for the weekend), the girls decided to post watch from the couch. I kept trying to entice them to bed with me, but they looked up at me plaintively and explained, “But Papa isn’t home. He may come home any moment. He may need our help. We must be vigilant and maintain our watch for him.” Then with condescending sighs, they returned their attention to the picture window and the driveway. Certainly, they must have thought me daft for even questioning their loyalty to the pack. I am, after all, only a silly human.
Everything was fine Friday night until Aldina found something quite wrong with the universe at 1am. I bolted up in bed, felt for a top to don, and made a quick perimeter check, quite prepared to use whatever fu I may have at 1 in the morning on whoever dare disturbeth my sleep and the sanctity of my home. As it turns out, the fu I employed was to toss Aldina on her back and begin to muck her. My tummy-rubbing fu was strong!
Once the dogs were settled back at their posts on the couch, I re-retired to the bed and lay there for another 2+ hours trying to sleep. Needless to say, I was somewhat less than sparkling at work yesterday. *sigh*
But last night was wonderful. We all jumped on the bed, rolled around and wrestled, growled and wagged our tails for quite some time before actually bedding down for the night. It was a peaceful night with puppy cuddling and waking to warm little bodies next to me.

And now that I've finished my breakfast and a whole lot of tea, it's time to work on the Great Bathroom Rennovation Project and look forward to a visit fromdreadygoddess. There will be tea and beading and then, more tea. I also expect G home this afternoon. Ah, rapture and joy!
