I’ve noticed something interesting the past few days. Tell me if I’ve gone nuts.

Chicken, pork, duck smell foul to me. I don’t mean to pun, here. G’s Mom makes him the freshest meat and cooks it very well. Never in all my years of vegetarianism have I thought that well cooked meat smelled wrong. I’ve never been that kind of vegetarian. But in the last three days, it smells rancid. Why? How could this happen so suddenly? I’m very confused. I haven’t tested this by going to a restaurant and breathing deeply. I also haven’t tested it on beef. But I’ve always relied upon my nose to tell whether G’s meaty leftovers needed to be chucked and I don’t understand why this has come to be. What changed? Does anyone have an explaination? *boggles*

I hope it isn't foot-in-mouth for some reason to ask this (one never knows) but is there any chance you might be pregnant? In my experience (of other people!) that seems to be the sort of thing that suddenly attacks -- aversions to tastes and/or smells.

Pork really smells nasty to me. Beef less so, but also distinctly wrong. I don't react that way to fish or fowl, but it doesn't smell like food to me.

Could it be you've been radically purifing yourself in preperation from the baby and that has changed how you experience meat?

*laughs* I so wish that were possible. It would be lovely if it were that simple. If I have any other signs, I'll try a test. It's a good thought, though. No foot. No mouth. Just love. *hugs*

I don't know. It seemed sudden. Well, at least it took me by surprise. I wasn't expecting it. I opened the container to make G's lunch and I always sniff stuff first to make sure it's okay, and WHAM! I nearly dropped the container. Last night, the soup we made at his Mom's was the same soup they made before with the chicken and fish broth, but this time the smell of it nearly made me choke. I made the same soup with fish only and it was great. I just don't get it. Do you think I'm over-doing it?

I siphon energy into chance pregnancy every day. I still hold a glimmer of hope regardless of what the medical community says. *crosses fingers*

Not at all. I think you are on the right track. This is a really good sign, I think, even if it is inconvienient. I think you are much closer to balanced now.
