There are just some mornings I wake and feel every bit my age and another couple of decades more. Today is one of those days. Yesterday, I twisted my trunk muscles getting out of the car. It's not lower back, so I can walk. It's not upper back, so I can move my arms. It's that middle section that only hurts when I breathe or twist in any way. Brilliant, yes?
So, I woke this morning stiff and uncomfortable. I figured upon a light activities day... right after I did the laundry. Three loads. Gana had a pinched nerve episode for a few hours and couldn't hold her bladder. She peed on the bed, the pillows, towels... poor girl. She was mortified that she couldn't control herself. I warmed her in the sauna and she came out feeling better and was spry the next morning. So, laundry.
I was going to plug away at the mural a bit more when I realized the sun had been out for a while. It hadn't rained yesterday and the grass is as dry as it will be until summer. I have been charging the lawnmower in preparation for just such a day. Let me tell you, there is a certain thrill in watching the mulching mower turn the yard leaves into, well, mulch. They are gone. No raking. Just gone. Nicely cropped grass is all over the back yard without the layer of leaves. Awesome! I went out to the front to mow, too. That led to sweeping leaves off the driveway and sidewalk.
Once the mower was washed and put away, I came inside to renew foliating my trees in the mural room. That's when G almost knocked me off the step ladder when he tried to charge into the closed door (behind which I was painting). Fortunately, he stopped when he met the resistance of the ladder, myself and a whole lot of yellow-green paint. Tragedy was averted. That's when I stopped for lunch. And here I am. Lunching and updating.
That hot shower is going to feel really, really good later.
