This morning, we drove into Boston. We parked near Chinatown and had a lovely dim sum breakfast in an old theatre. We walked around Boston, had another dim sum for lunch, then drove through MIT and Harvard campuses before returned to the hotel in Peabody to pick up Kean and Matthew for dinner in Salem.

We went to The Lobster Shanty.

It was quite an adventure. G wanted boiled lobster. They offered a 1 1/4# for $25 and a 3# for $50 -- except they were out of the 3# so they were substituting a 5# lobster for the same price. It was a deal that couldn't be ignored, so we decided to share between the four of us. The lobster was so huge the shell cracking implements of destruction were too small to give the proper leverage. We were having so much fun, the couple seated next to us were enthralled. We provided them an evening of entertainment. The gentleman kept staring at our huge beast, clearly, he had lobster envy. He ordered the 1 1/4# for himself as the large ones were gone. I tried to console him when his little lobster arrived by assuring him it was no reflection on his manhood that his lobster was so tiny. *wicked grin*

After an uproarious dinner of quips and antics, we had a great chat about moving forward together in business, walked about the town, then return to the hotel. I'd say it was a great success.

I'm not sure if it's the same now as it was when I lived there, but RI had a law against selling any kind of liquor in anything save a bar or a liquor store... and there were a lot of strict blue laws on the books about the kind of hours those establishments could keep.

As a result, there are a lot of liquor stores in RI. There are huge chains of them throughout the area. One of the chains that I didn't remember until I saw the sign is below:

Yes. That is the famous Bunghole Liquor Store chain. A sight only found in New England. Enjoy your drink!
