It was a mostly wonderful weekend. G and I moved Mom on Friday. It went well enough.

Saturday, we had a pretty great day starting with a trip to Farmer’s Market. We returned to our bikes laden with yummy bits to find my rear tire completely flat. I don’t know how since it was not losing air at all, but that is irrelevant. G and I walked to Hutch’s to remedy the situation (I rarely take my tire fixing kit with me for downtown commuting). When he put her on the pole, I noticed the back tire was really worn around the edges where the edge meets the rims. Also, both tires were pretty low on tread. It just goes to show, perspective is everything. Put the bike at eye level and I can see all the little details that I don’t see when I’m squatting on the ground pumping the tires. I bought two new tires and a new tube for the back. They are the spiffiest things ever! They are Kevlar tires. I have two bullet-proof tires on my bike! Woot! Take that, Al Capone, Bugsy Malone and Bonnie and Clyde! You’ll never get me now! *raspberries the hardened killers in a dazzling display of elegance and grace*

Our Saturday continued to shine at Trish and Rob’s wedding practice. I wasn’t in the official party, but I’m the only one in my household that wasn’t, so I was invited to participate. More on the wedding later.

Sunday was Mom’s birthday. We took her out to Olive Garden where I comported myself brilliantly by menacing Mom with catapulted sweetener packets. Hey, it was her fault for sitting opposite me, right? *looks for encouragement and, sadly, finds none* Olive Garden graciously provides a little cup of sweetener packets and some very sturdy forks. I indoctrinated G in the art of fork catapulting using Mom as a target. She was a good sport about it and, I think, actually enjoyed herself. We took her to CostCo and Shop Ko later to search for a replacement tv with no success..

That evening, we met with friends and played Munchkin Cthulhu and Descent… until 3am. In Descent, I played the Evil Overlord with Zach. I struck fear into the hearts of the players. *cue hideous laughter* Evil won, but I was too tired to celebrate at 3am. Hey, even Pure Evil has a bedtime! Don’t look at me like that! I just took my victims home and froze them to gnaw on their bones at my leisure. I’m evil! Pure Evil, dag nabbit! Quit looking at me like that! *giggles*

Monday was the wedding. I was honoured to be a part of it. It was absolutely lovely. Everyone was supportive and it took place at my beloved Mt. Pisgah. Trish allowed me to assist in many ways and I placed myself in charge of the Unofficial Wedding Album. I grabbed all the shots that the professional photographer won’t. *impish grin*

After we helped clean the place, Brad and Sarah came home with us for tea and pastries. We met them the next morning for breakfast before they left for home. It was a supremely lovely event.
