Just because, sometimes, it's one straw too many and my back can't take the burden. I wrote this email tonight to this company. They are certainly not the only ones out there who don't deem it important to mention some of the herbs and flavours they use in their products, but after a lifetime of taking calculated risks on incomplete labels, something had to be said.

Dear Desert Essence,

I was extremely disappointed this evening when I popped open the cap to your Citrus Fresh Toothpaste.

I am a label reader. I scour the aisles of my grocery stores for the healthiest and the best products for myself and my family. I decided, after reading the ingredients, to try the Citrus Fresh toothpaste for the first time. All the ingredients listed passed my inspection. I don't know if you can imagine my disappointment when I opened the lid and sniffed the contents only to catch the dreaded scent of cinnamon. Cinnamon was not listed on the label. Had I known, I'd have not purchased your product. I am anaphylactically allergic to cinnamon. I realize there are not many people with this allergy in the world, but I am very tired of breaking the seal on products only to smell cinnamon that wasn't listed anywhere on the product.

I do not expect anything from you except that you consider making a thorough list of the ingredients in your products. If my nose wasn't acutely tuned to the scent, I'm sure I'd have had more than my share of emergency room visits over the years.

I thank you for your attention and I am sad that I will not be able to use your product.

Peace.
