Yesterday it rained all day and, despite waking with the feeling of an impending sore throat and excruciating abdominal pain, I ventured onto the train and trudged most of the width of the city to take care of some last minute chores. This morning I woke with a definite sore throat. It rather ticks me off. I've been virus free since 2004. Sure I've been under physical, spiritual and emotional stress this past few months, but still... I had hoped my fortitude was more fortitudinous than that. Ah well.
I rose, shook myself off and began the day with a shower and some clean clothes. We drove to the Parents house and then off to Yum Cha in Cabramatta. That's one other thing I'll miss about being in Sydney. I love Dim Sum if it's made properly. The idea of a pile of people sitting around a table eating nibblies just as an excuse to drink good tea is appealing on multiple levels. Despite the virus, I enjoyed myself and I'm glad I didn't listen to G's urgings to stay put in bed.
Still, I'm hoping to drown this virus in echinacea and water before I spend a whole day on planes. The landings are harsh when the ears are not draining. I have my fingers crossed that it will drain and be mostly done by Tuesday morning.
We'll spend most of tomorrow finishing the packing and load the van with our boxes. We'll spend one more night here and then on Monday, we'll clean and sweep the house a bit, load our mattress in the van and spend Monday night at the Parent's place. We plan to be up, showered and on our way to the airport bright and early so we can check in and manage seats together on the plane. I hate that our seats are not assigned. It's a full flight and I really need aisle seats. I become rather annoying with my constant need to stand up and walk around if I have to crawl over people. On the flight out to Sydney, I had a small yoga standing stretch session with another passenger at the back of the plane. Hey, 15 hours in the air. I'm not good at sitting still for a few hours, never mind 15. I plan more yoga on this flight, as well.
And, as I wind down and plan to go to bed early, I present a not at all surprising quiz result.
