We arrived in Gold Beach, Queensland yesterday morning. We’re here to meet the Clarksons for business. Our little apartment is two blocks in from the beach. This morning I walked to the beach for my morning constitutional. This surely doesn’t suck. I’ll take the camera tomorrow morning and take a few pictures for you.
And now, the Friday Five.
1) Of the various cultures, ethnicities or nationalities you belong to, which most strongly do you consider yourself?
Primarily to the French, secondly to the Italian.
2) Is there a culture you cannot claim heritage from but which you feel quite close to?
This is a good question. I think I’ve totally embraced my European heritage. I feel like I could easily belong to any of them and love it.
3) What's one language you wish you knew fluently?
Hee hee. That would have to be the language my in-laws speak. I feel so left out and it’s very difficult for me to learn. If only I married a Frenchman. *rolls eyes*
4) If you could move anywhere in the world and be guaranteed a job, etc., where would you go?
I’m not sure. I am so in love with my verdant little valley, I wouldn’t want to live permanently anywhere else. There are lots of places I wouldn’t mind living for a month or two, but I’d always look forward to going home. While Australia is a great place, I still don’t like living in Sydney. It’s just not a MiLady-like city for living. I miss my mountains, rivers and tall green trees.
5) If you had a time machine, and could witness any one event without altering or disturbing it, what would you want to see?’’
All of it. I’ve often thought my perfect version of the afterlife would begin with a tour of everything that ever happened in the Universe from its conception. I’d sit like a viewer with a remote control and control the speed and zoom features so I could relive everything to my curiosity’s content.
