I have had my first knitting lesson tonight, courtesy of Trish. Unfortunately, the class was overcrowded and we had no individual attention. I’m doing something with the yarn, but I’m just not sure how correct it is. There are further lessons planned in my future.
I stopped by the yarn shop on 13th and Mill the other day and signed up for their classes in February. I think I’ll like those better as I know the class is smaller, the lighting and classroom are better and it is a series of three lessons, two hours each, for only twice as much as I just paid for a single 1.5 hour class that was overbooked. I can’t understand how as adults we can be angry about not having personalized attention in a knitting class and then vote to withdraw more funding from our schools. But that, my dears, is another kettle of fish and I’d rather not go there. I think I’ll sit with my yarn and listen to RotK while I try to remember what I was taught.
