The weekend was awesome, awesome, AWESOME!
I had a GREAT time! It wasn’t that it is a convention where a bunch of people get together to play games, it is because the games are an excuse to bring a bunch of really interesting people together for a weekend of fun. It’s the people. And I love them all.
I love all the socially challenged people with their quirky ways, I love all the amazingly creative people who make the games fun, I love all the little children that are soooo brilliant and can make my head spin with how intelligent and advanced they are, I love the feel of a building housing a group of people there with the intent of having fun, laughing and making new friends. Most of all, I love my tribe. I am surrounded constantly for 3 days by people that love me. People that I can’t see regularly, people that I may only see once every week or two, people that I see every day… we envelope each other in love and laughter. I can’t think of anything more uplifting.
I am eternally grateful for the quality of my life. I mean, even while we were going through our house the night of the robbery to see what was missing, we were laughing and joking with each other. How great is that? Less than a week later I have a two friends keeping tabs Avalonne for us and another friend left their car in the driveway as a decoy. People go out if their way to help me and I can’t ever do enough wonderful things in this universe to repay that.
I also amazes me how great humans are when you put them in a fun, relaxed atmosphere. I didn’t stop smiling, laughing and hugging all weekend. People that I don’t even know become friends a half hour into a game. And it amazes me that people that I gamed with or spoke to a year ago remember me and rekindle the acquaintanceship while I wrack my brain to place them. *blush* I can only assume that it is due to my loud and boisterous nature. People tend to hear me laugh quite a distance away… and I laugh a lot. Yeah me!
I would count this as a very successful event. I spent (not nearly enough) time with my beloved family and friends, made new friends, and learned new things.
So, I end this wonderful eventful weekend exhausted from barely any sleep and not enough food completely wrapped in the warm fuzzy blanket of love and adoration.
